A Comfortable Base for Kruger and the Lowveld

Diamond & Pearl Luxury Lodge is a self-catering holiday home in the Sabie River Eco Estate, a secure estate in Hazyview. It’s a quiet, private place to stay for families, groups of friends and colleagues travelling together, with plenty of room to spread out after a day in the bush.

The property has two parts: a five-bedroom main house that sleeps ten, and a separate deluxe cottage for two. You can book either one, or take both and bring up to twelve guests. Outside there’s a private pool, a braai and boma, and green gardens. A daily cleaning service is included (Sundays are optional), Kruger’s Phabeni Gate is 15 km away, and Hazyview Junction is just 3 km down the road for groceries and supplies.

Accommodation
The Main House: Five Bedrooms, Sleeps Ten

The main house is spread over two floors, so everyone gets their own space. Each of the five bedrooms has a queen-size bed. Downstairs there are two bedrooms: one with its own en-suite bathroom, and one right next to the guest toilet. Upstairs there are three more bedrooms, one of them en-suite, the other two with a shared bathroom.

Bed linen, towels and soap are all supplied, so all you need to bring is your clothes and groceries. The house works well for family holidays, weekends away with friends and small team getaways.

Facilities
Fully Equipped Kitchen Pool and Boma

The open-plan kitchen has everything you’d have at home: a gas stove, double oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and wine cooler, plus a washing machine and tumble dryer. Breakfast is easy at the six-seater kitchen nook, and the twelve-seater dining table seats the whole group for dinner.

There are three separate lounges, each with a TV and DStv Premium streaming, and free Wi-Fi throughout, so nobody has to fight over the remote. Outside, the furnished patio and balcony look over the pool and garden. When the sun goes down, light the braai or gather round the boma fire.

Cottage
The Deluxe Cottage: A Private Stay for Two

The Deluxe Cottage is a separate, air-conditioned unit for couples or anyone in Hazyview on business. It has a queen-size bed, an en-suite bathroom with a shower, DStv Premium streaming and free Wi-Fi.

The kitchenette is set up for simple meals and morning coffee, with a bar fridge, microwave, kettle, crockery, cutlery and wine glasses for two. Fresh linen and towels are provided. It’s a quiet alternative to a hotel room, and it’s useful as extra space when a bigger group books the main house.

Tailor-Made Kruger Safaris with Our Own Guide

We offer tailor-made tours into Kruger National Park in our own open safari vehicle, with an experienced guide at the wheel. Because it’s our vehicle and our guide, the day is planned around your group: when you leave, how long you stay out, and what you most want to see.

Start early on a full-day drive for your best chance of seeing the Big Five, or head out later for a sunset drive, when the light softens and the animals become more active as the day cools. Phabeni Gate is only 15 km from the lodge, so you spend less time on the road and more time in the park.

Outdoor Excitement
White-Water Rafting and Adventure Near Hazyview

For something faster-paced, the Extreme Adventure Camp is about 16 km from the lodge along the R536. Raft the white-water rapids of the Sabie River with an experienced guide, or try tubing (also called geckoing), where you float and paddle your way downstream on your own tube. Back on dry land, you can take a quad bike out along bushveld trails and forest paths.

There’s plenty for those who would rather keep their feet on the ground, too. Split into teams for paintball in the woodland arena, have a go at archery with an instructor, or join a guided hike through the Lowveld scenery. The camp also runs team-building days for corporate groups, and it’s a great day out for families and friends. Just let us know when you book and we’ll help you arrange it.

Let us plan the days for you. Our two-day Adventure Safari Package combines a full day in Kruger with quad biking and white-water rafting. More Things to Do Near Hazyview

There’s plenty more within easy reach. Zip-line through the forest canopy with Skyway Trails, ride the Graskop Gorge Lift down into the gorge, or try the Long Tom Toboggan and Scootours. For a slower day, take a boat cruise through the Blyde River Canyon or meet the elephants at Elephant Whispers. You can also visit Perry’s Bridge Reptile Park, just 2 km from the lodge, or the Seronera Crocodile Farm.

Kruger Park & Panorama Route

Hazyview sits between two of Mpumalanga’s best-known destinations. Kruger’s Phabeni Gate is 11 km away. That’s close enough to go in for an early game drive and be back at the pool by the afternoon. In the other direction, the Panorama Route takes you past God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes and the Three Rondavels. Further afield, you can explore the ancient Sudwala Caves or spend an afternoon in the Lowveld National Botanical Garden in Mbombela.
